Area Bergen Community College Graduates Receive Awards
Bergen Community College recognized 105 graduating students with academic awards, including 43 who earned perfect 4.0 grade point averages. The College gave out the awards at a ceremony held at the Anna Maria Ciccone Theatre on the main campus.
The following list represents area award winners who attended the ceremony, along with their hometowns and awards received:
Cliffside Park:
- Katie L. Corcoran – 4.0 GPA
- Mariana J. Pulido – 4.0 GPA
- Renee D. Reitmeyer – 4.0 GPA
- Kayode Penn – Honors Program
Fairview:
- Marco Andrade – Business Technology Divisional Award (Networking Administration)
- Carlos Villar – James Wiley Scholarship
North Bergen:
- Keith Bostwick – Fine & Performing Arts Divisional Award (Music Arts- Computer-Based Recording)
- Eduardo E. Solano – Certificate, Surgical Technology Divisional Award (Evening)
Ridgefield:
- Cynthia Camacho – Fine & Performing Arts Divisional Award (Music Arts – Music Business)
The awards recognize top students from the College’s individual academic programs as well as those successfully completing an Honors Program course of study, participants in Phi Theta Kappa, winners of Bergen Community College Foundation scholarships and students listed in “Who’s Who in American Junior Colleges.”
“I predict as time goes on, these academic awards, the things that you have done in your education, will never leave you,” Academic Vice President Dr. Gary Porter during the May 18 Academic Awards Ceremony. “Tonight, you are getting a memory you will never forget – and should never forget.”
Many of the honorees received divisional awards recognizing the most outstanding student in each of the College’s individual programs of study as nominated by their deans, department heads and professors.
